What Is Said

"Westminster Prez. one of the friendliest and most welcoming churches we have ever visited"

- almost everyone who visits.

Westminster Prez is on an island, so it makes sense that we would do a lot of "ministry" on the beach!

On Galveston Island

About two blocks from the water's edge, we gather to worship, study, have fun and most everything is accompanied by some kind of eating of great food, and ocassionally some really good coffee! (ok more than ocassionally)

From the Inside

A picture of the worship center, while it was decked out for Christmas. We had a great celebration, all that was missing was you, come join us!

Bibles Classes

Sundays 9:30 am class is currently talking about living as a community of believers and bearing one another's burdens. COME JOIN US!

Coffee & Such

Refreshments are served every Sunday in the fellowship hall, and more we get a chance to just hang out. Join us!

There Are Blessings

"I sometimes go days at a time, pushing through, one foot in front of the other, and I look up and I see the reality of the blessings that were there all along."

What Is Westminster Prez Like?

Expect a fun group of people, seeking God together, and trying to make the best of this life we're blessed with. We like to hang out together, so come hang out around the coffee pot in the fellowship hall at 10:30 am and have some donuts. We'll mosie on over to the sanctuary in time for worship at 11:00 am. There's childcare for the kids, but they're also welcome in the service. Come join us!

Excerpts From Westminster's Mission Statement . . .

You'll find a warm and welcoming community of faith at Westminster Presbyterian Church.  We are committed to the essentials of the Christian and Presbyterian faith as expressed by Jesus' command “to love God with all one’s heart, mind and soul and to love one another.” This is expressed by our open-mindedness, our recognition that we are all sinners In God’s eyes, and our gratitude that we are redeemed through the grace of God through Christ.

Because of the boldness provided by God’s strength, we are able to step out into the world and express God’s love. The church keeps us in community with one another and gives us a place to grow in our faith through study and worship. Our church sign says “COME JUST AS YOU ARE,” and we really mean what it says.  We hope you see in our welcome that superficial appearance is not important.  We are all sinners in the need of Christ’s salvation.

Our ministry is expressed through our worship, our deeds and actions, and our service to the community and beyond. Our mission is to be a body of believers that studies God’s word, supports and has fellowship with one another, humbly displays God’s love through faith and action, provides compassionate and loving service to the community, and displays tolerance, open-mindedness, and a welcoming atmosphere.
